Maddox or Ty???

From the second I found out that I was buildin' a boy I wondered who, if either, of the boys he would favor. Would he be be born with a head full of hair like Maddox or lack the locks like little Jax??? Would he have a full pout like Maddox or cute little lips like Jaxon. Or would he be in a league of his own and look like neither. I have to say, it's a little srange holding him because of his resemblence to Maddox. The little guy is a mini Madd. I honestly think one day people will think he and Maddox are the twins!

Mama's home cookin'

After a fun-filled, busy day who wouldn't want to sit down to a nice home-cooked meal from mom. I'm sure my family would love to....however, I have yet to perfect my motherly dishes. The picture pretty much says it all. Maddox and Arik typically share the same expression/reaction to my food and though Jaxon will eat it, he doesn't necessarily enjoy it. Tonights delicacy.....mozzarella cheese quesadillas with chopped sausage and ruby red barbeque dipping sauce to complete the taste... mmmm mmm I know, it's oozing health. My saving grace? This week I have friends from our playgroup that are going to help and deliver meals here. Thank you, thank you!!!

IT STRIKES AGAIN!! and more...

Arik woke up this afternoon and said, "I think I've got what you had." Hmm, I thought, 'Is this just a ploy to get a few more hours in bed or might he really be feeling sick.' Knowing how I felt the other night, I had to give him the benefit of the doubt. But when Arik turned down wings and a soda I knew he wasn't fakin'! So far the wins have no showed any of the symptoms. They were slightly fussy yesterday, but nothing that I felt was due to the bug. I went out yesterday and stocked up on Lysol wipes, they claim to kill the flu virus. I've been wiping down counters, sofas and beds along with washing daily loads of bedding! Fun fun!! Other than that..... Dee and Di Di are down visiting. They took the big boys out to the park this afternoon and for a nice long walk this morning. AHHH ( The sound of angels ) .... I got some much needed quiet time. I actually got to lay in bed with the twins on my chest and watch a couple of shows that I've taped with the hopes of watching, but never get around to! If I have one complaint about this time, it's that I feel like I am not getting to enjoy this stage with the babies. I rarely get to just hold and love on them and though it's more for me than them I feel slightly cheated of bonding time with them. Unfortunately, with each additional child this beginning age gets rushed along a little faster each time. I just can't believe that they are already a month old! I can see the subtle changes in size also. The moses basket is becoming a tighter squeeze for both of them as is the pink vibrating chair. Their little cheeks are filling out and they are becoming more alert each day. When I peek in on the boys through the night, I definately get that "mom emotional moment" when I see how big they are. Especially in comparision to the twins. Each night I have to remind myself that as crazy as the next day may be, to enjoy it because it's going fast!

Beach Day

Don't get too jealous all you "Northerners", but the boys and I just got back from a beautiful afternoon at the beach. The weather was PERFECT, the water was crystal clear and the boys actually got along! (That in itself can make for a great day! ) I wish I had taken my camera and I could have posted some beach shots, but I didn't think about it. Maddox has gone from being absolutely petrified of the water..to laying on his stomach and letting the waves crash on his back. Now Jax is another story, he is almost fearless...until he gets sand on his hands. We had just got to the beach and he stops a couple walking towards us and with the most pitiful scrunched face, holds his hands up at them crying about the sand. They laughed and the man offered his shorts to clean them, instead Jaxon decided to use the guy's leg. This made them laugh even harder. The woman then offers her shorts, but he chose to use her towel. He's a little ham, he knows how to work people and get a reaction! Ty and Olivia had a busy day too. I loaded all the kids up this morning to take Olivia to get one last set of blood work done at the lab. Oddly enough it turned out my mom had to go to the same place today. Having the extra hand was great! Olivia did good, just one little egh egh and she was done. Poor little guys have been through a lot in their short time with us. They are probably like, "stick us back in the belly!!" Anyways, that was our day for the most part. Bedtime is creepin' up so I better scoot!
