Maddox or Ty???

From the second I found out that I was buildin' a boy I wondered who, if either, of the boys he would favor. Would he be be born with a head full of hair like Maddox or lack the locks like little Jax??? Would he have a full pout like Maddox or cute little lips like Jaxon. Or would he be in a league of his own and look like neither. I have to say, it's a little srange holding him because of his resemblence to Maddox. The little guy is a mini Madd. I honestly think one day people will think he and Maddox are the twins!

Mama's home cookin'

After a fun-filled, busy day who wouldn't want to sit down to a nice home-cooked meal from mom. I'm sure my family would love to....however, I have yet to perfect my motherly dishes. The picture pretty much says it all. Maddox and Arik typically share the same expression/reaction to my food and though Jaxon will eat it, he doesn't necessarily enjoy it. Tonights delicacy.....mozzarella cheese quesadillas with chopped sausage and ruby red barbeque dipping sauce to complete the taste... mmmm mmm I know, it's oozing health. My saving grace? This week I have friends from our playgroup that are going to help and deliver meals here. Thank you, thank you!!!

IT STRIKES AGAIN!! and more...

Arik woke up this afternoon and said, "I think I've got what you had." Hmm, I thought, 'Is this just a ploy to get a few more hours in bed or might he really be feeling sick.' Knowing how I felt the other night, I had to give him the benefit of the doubt. But when Arik turned down wings and a soda I knew he wasn't fakin'! So far the wins have no showed any of the symptoms. They were slightly fussy yesterday, but nothing that I felt was due to the bug. I went out yesterday and stocked up on Lysol wipes, they claim to kill the flu virus. I've been wiping down counters, sofas and beds along with washing daily loads of bedding! Fun fun!! Other than that..... Dee and Di Di are down visiting. They took the big boys out to the park this afternoon and for a nice long walk this morning. AHHH ( The sound of angels ) .... I got some much needed quiet time. I actually got to lay in bed with the twins on my chest and watch a couple of shows that I've taped with the hopes of watching, but never get around to! If I have one complaint about this time, it's that I feel like I am not getting to enjoy this stage with the babies. I rarely get to just hold and love on them and though it's more for me than them I feel slightly cheated of bonding time with them. Unfortunately, with each additional child this beginning age gets rushed along a little faster each time. I just can't believe that they are already a month old! I can see the subtle changes in size also. The moses basket is becoming a tighter squeeze for both of them as is the pink vibrating chair. Their little cheeks are filling out and they are becoming more alert each day. When I peek in on the boys through the night, I definately get that "mom emotional moment" when I see how big they are. Especially in comparision to the twins. Each night I have to remind myself that as crazy as the next day may be, to enjoy it because it's going fast!

Beach Day

Don't get too jealous all you "Northerners", but the boys and I just got back from a beautiful afternoon at the beach. The weather was PERFECT, the water was crystal clear and the boys actually got along! (That in itself can make for a great day! ) I wish I had taken my camera and I could have posted some beach shots, but I didn't think about it. Maddox has gone from being absolutely petrified of the water..to laying on his stomach and letting the waves crash on his back. Now Jax is another story, he is almost fearless...until he gets sand on his hands. We had just got to the beach and he stops a couple walking towards us and with the most pitiful scrunched face, holds his hands up at them crying about the sand. They laughed and the man offered his shorts to clean them, instead Jaxon decided to use the guy's leg. This made them laugh even harder. The woman then offers her shorts, but he chose to use her towel. He's a little ham, he knows how to work people and get a reaction! Ty and Olivia had a busy day too. I loaded all the kids up this morning to take Olivia to get one last set of blood work done at the lab. Oddly enough it turned out my mom had to go to the same place today. Having the extra hand was great! Olivia did good, just one little egh egh and she was done. Poor little guys have been through a lot in their short time with us. They are probably like, "stick us back in the belly!!" Anyways, that was our day for the most part. Bedtime is creepin' up so I better scoot!

Jax is too cool!

Okay, so I am partial, but how cute is this boy!

Our other baby

I can't forget to mention our Roxy baby. Roxy is almost 4 years old. We adopted her when she was two and she has been an excellent addition to our family. She is hands down the best dog I've ever had. As great as she is, ( I won't bore you too much with details... ) we still keep a watchful eye with her around the kids. Oddly enough, she seems to want to keep a watchful eye on us too! For the first time she started sleeping outside of our bedroom door ( she usually sleeps in the living room) and she curls up next to the baby swing when the twins are in it. I guess she just wants to make sure that we remember what we are doing:)

Makin' Its rounds

Well, darnit.....I went in to snap a picture of Jaxon in his bed to post and little Maddox looked so cute I had to get one of him too. He was laying with his head at the other end of the bed all bundled up with his bottom in the air....but as I got closer I realized why. A big puddle of vomit was all over his pillow..... Poor little guy, I knew this nasty little bug was going to make its rounds....I had it at the beginning of the week...then Jax...my mom, cousin and Grandma all got it too. I of course am concerned for the twins, however, aside from constant handwashing and keeping as much distance as possible between them and the boys (ha ha) what can I do! Anyways, I changed Maddox and put him in our bed to keep an eye on him. Sorry Arik, he's on your pillow. The good news...this seems to only last a day.

Feelin' the Pressure

Well, as some of you know, I am a little ridiculous when it comes to keeping my house somewhat in order... I know, I know, believe me everyone has the same advice....enjoy the kids, a clean house can come later. But I honestly have to say cleaning up and having a kept home is therapeutic for me. Call me crazy, but when I feel like things are put together I thoroughly enjoy my time with the kids. Point being.....my house is a disaster today! And what am I doing while the kids are napping??? Blogging about my messy house I should be cleaning right now:) Jaxon has transitioned to his big boy bed, which works great as long as we lay him down before Maddox. I laid him down first, then fed the twins. I am feeding them together as this saves on time, the downside...it's less intimate and lacks that special bonding time. They are now cuddled up next to each other in the little pink vibrating chair and I should have another 3 1/2 - 4 hrs before they "need" me again. And Mr. Maddox, well he's passed out with Dad. I usually have to lay with Maddox before he'll fall asleep for nap. He likes me to rub his nose and whisper to him. It seems to do the trick. I on the other hand am amped up on coffee and soda ( mmm healthy ) and am off to find a starting point!

What's this blogging all about???

At a speed slightly faster than my mother, I am slowly bringing myself into the 21st century. I have known blogging has existed, but as with MP3 players and iPods, DVR's and TIVOS, I have resisted getting "on board" with the rest of the world. Content with my basic headset and DVD player. But after talking with a few people that blog to keep in touch with relatives and friends, I thought it might be a great idea to give it a shot as we do have a lot of extended family. And what better time to try a new project like this than right after the birth of he twins. Life isn't hectic at all right now.....4 kids under three a dog and a husband with a crazy schedule! Okay, so it might be a short lived undertaking, but I'll try. (In walks Maddox, tears in his eyes and holding his bottom...."Mom, I fell" .... kiss on the noggin' 'Are you okay?' ..."yes" in the most pitiful voice....There are a few more minutes before big boy bedtime and he is now wasting them deciding if he wants to stay in here crying to me or finish watching Diego on the couch....crying to mom wins. I finally got Jax to sleep after a day of throwing up. Poor little guy just couldn't keep anything down. And the twins? Well Ty is fast asleep in his sister's pretty pink vibrating chair and little "Livi bean" is all bundled up in the swing. The countdown begins till my 15 minutes of quiet time "Maddox, quit banging on the canister, go finish watching Diego or you are going to bed now.....Now if I could just track down that husband of mine!) So we'll see where this goes. I'll try to post as many pics as possible and give little daily updates as I can. In the meantime, I am going to go fix myself some dinner. I get what they say when they tell you you'll be too busy to find time to eat! -NICOLE:)
